Nederlandse apothekers, artsen, bedrijven en onderzoekers hebben daarom hun handen ineen geslagen en een nieuw samenwerkingsverband opgericht: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imc-nederland.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instituut Medicinale Cannabis Nederland <\/a>(IMC). Bedrocan, producent van medicinale cannabis, is \u00e9\u00e9n van de trotse partners van dit nieuwe instituut. Doel van het IMC is de informatievoorziening over medicinale cannabis richting pati\u00ebnten en voorschrijvers te verbeteren en de samenwerking op het gebied van wetenschappelijk onderzoek te versterken. Professor Dr. Renger Witkamp, hoogleraar Voeding en Farmacologie aan de Wageningen Universiteit, is voorzitter van het IMC. Ole Heil, directeur Communications &amp; Government Affairs van Bedrocan is penningmeester.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1621253301694{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;]\n<h3>Duizenden pati\u00ebnten<\/h3>\n<p>Medicinale cannabis is in Nederland sinds 2003 op doktersrecept via de apotheek beschikbaar voor pati\u00ebnten. Inmiddels maken hier per jaar zo\u2019n 10.000 mensen, met verschillende aandoeningen, gebruik van. Het wordt onder andere toegepast als pijnstillerbestrijder en als symptoombestrijder bij bepaalde vormen van epilepsie, MS en in palliatieve zorg. Desalniettemin blijkt het lastig om goede en betrouwbare informatie over het gebruik en de toepassing van <a href=\"https:\/\/bedrocan.com\/nl\/zorgverleners\/medicinale-cannabis\/\">medicinale cannabis<\/a> te vinden.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;122224&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;custom_link&#8221; img_link_target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.imc-nederland.nl\/&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1621276419487{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;]Renger Witkamp: \u2018We zien helaas heel veel onjuiste informatie over medicinale cannabis. Veel pati\u00ebnten die mogelijk baat hebben bij het product belanden onnodig in de coffeeshop of bij illegale aanbieders. Of erger nog: sommige artsen verwijzen hun pati\u00ebnten hier zelfs actief naartoe. Het IMC stelt zich ten doel dit door middel van goede voorlichting te veranderen. Het IMC bevordert dat de behandeling van pati\u00ebnten die mogelijk baat hebben bij medicinale cannabis, onder medische begeleiding van arts en apotheker plaatsvindt.\u2019<\/p>\n<h3>Co\u00f6rdinatie van onderzoek<\/h3>\n<p>De laatste jaren wordt er steeds meer onderzoek gedaan naar de werking en toepassing van medicinale cannabis. Zo ook in Nederland. Op bijna elke universiteit in ons land houden onderzoekers zich hiermee bezig. Omdat het onderzoeksgebied nog in de kinderschoenen staat, is er nog weinig samenwerking en co\u00f6rdinatie. Het IMC biedt een platform voor onderzoekers om hen samen te brengen en waar mogelijk de krachten te bundelen.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Monique van Velzen, onderzoeksmanager van de afdeling Anesthesiologie van het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC) is bestuurslid Onderzoek van het IMC: \u2018Ik merk om mij heen dat er veel behoefte is aan samenwerking op het gebeid van wetenschappelijk onderzoek met medicinale cannabis. Veel onderzoeken, soms zelfs binnen dezelfde instelling, lopen langs elkaar heen. En ook voor onderzoekers is het lastig om uit te vinden wat wel en niet kan en mag als het om cannabis gaat, met veel vertraging tot gevolg. Dat is zonde en daar brengen we met het IMC straks verandering in. Door onderzoekers te verbinden, kunnen we van elkaar leren en het onderzoek stroomlijnen, op elkaar afstemmen en structureren.\u2019<\/p>\n<h3>Inhoudelijke deskundigen<\/h3>\n<p>Het IMC is een stichting waarbij verschillende partners en inhoudelijk deskundigen zich hebben aangesloten.
