There are different channels for ordering medicinal cannabis. Orders of medicinal cannabis as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) can be placed directly with the Dutch Office of Medicinal Cannabis (OMC). This government agency is responsible for distribution and export. Therefore, businesses and researchers wishing to use Bedrocan’s products must contact the OMC at all times. Their contact details are available on the OMC website.
Ordering medicinal cannabis – Importation
After contacting the OMC, interested parties must submit the following documents:
- Two original copies of the import licence from the local authority.
- An accompanying letter describing the amount and type of material required and the purpose for which it will be used.
Once the documents have been received, the OMC will draw up a contract in duplicate, and provide the invoice. After receiving all necessary documents, the OMC will apply for an export licence to the Dutch Healthcare Inspectorate (Inspectie Gezondheidszorg en Jeugd) based on the import licence previously provided. Once the signed contract has been returned, the OMC can deliver the requested amount of medicinal cannabis.
Please note: there might be changes to the above process, and additional documents may be required. Contact the OMC for the latest information.
Ordering medicinal cannabis – Cost & delivery
The OMC is the actual vendor of Bedrocan medicinal cannabis products. After Bedrocan delivers manufactured cannabis products to the OMC, the product is irradiated and packaged by other companies contracted by the OMC. The OMC determines the final pricing and provides an invoice. The final price includes the medicinal cannabis costs, application fee for the export permit and shipping costs.
The OMC delivers cannabis API in bulk packages containing 400 grams of plant material, or in 5-gram jars for medical use.
Bedrocan produces its cannabis products regularly. However, before it is possible to estimate the time of delivery, the ordered cannabis needs to be factored into the production schedule. Only then the OMC can estimate an expected date of delivery.
The OMC has broad experience with sending cannabis products around the world, and it uses a trusted courier for handling the delivery.
Note to patients
You cannot order medicinal cannabis or oil products from this website, nor do we deliver products directly to patients. Bedrocan’s cannabis products are available exclusively on prescription. Therefore, your GP or treating specialist can prescribe Bedrocan’s medicinal cannabis. Provided that your government issues medicinal cannabis in your country, you can take the prescription to a pharmacy.
