Cannabis flowers
Bedrocan produces multiple cannabis flowers (or chemovars) to be used as APIs, starting or raw materials. These chemovars can be supplied in different forms for medicine development, clinical research, and patient use via medicinal cannabis programmes. Each medicinal cannabis product is fully standardised and has a defined genetic, cannabinoid, and terpene profile. Every stage of the manufacturing process is GMP-certified (good manufacturing practice).
Our medicinal cannabis material is independently tested by specialised laboratories for the required specifications. The chemovars currently available are listed below.

Why chemovar?
Bedrocan prioritises precise, science-based terminology. Rather than using broad terms such as “variety,” we refer to our cannabis API products as chemovars. A chemovar is a distinct species of Cannabis sativa L. characterised by its specific chemical profile, especially its cannabinoids and terpenes. This terminology highlights what matters most to Bedrocan: the unique and consistently standardised chemical composition of each plant.
Supplied product forms
Flos
Cannabis flos is the whole, dried flower of the cannabis plant. Our cannabis flos is fully standardised, with a defined cannabinoid composition.
Cut flos
Cut flos is the cannabis flower that has been reduced in size, other than by powdering. The reduction in size increases the homogeneity of the material and allows for easier use.
Industrial
The industrial form is a form tailored to specific manufacturing needs. It usually consists of whole, dried cannabis flowers, including some minor leaf material. The industrial product is available in all our chemovars and is a versatile option of starting material for further processing (e.g., extraction).
Packaging
Primary packaging
Primary packaging is available for both cannabis flos and cut flos in 10g jars. It is suitable for licensed distributors that supply pharmacies that dispense medicinal cannabis.
Bulk packaging
Bulk packaging is available for all supplied forms and in different sizes. It is intended for licensed distributors that supply compounding pharmacies as well as manufacturers of cannabis-based products for medicinal use.
API & raw material
Cannabis API
Our cannabis flowers can be used directly as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for the manufacture of finished medicinal products, including oral solutions and other cannabinoid-based dosage forms. Bedrocan’s cannabis API is produced under full GMP certification and always irradiated to ensure microbiological purity and compliance with pharmaceutical standards.
API starting material
Our cannabis flowers can also be used as API starting material for the production of purified cannabinoids such as THC or CBD isolates. In certain jurisdictions, the same material may also be classified as a starting material for pharmacy compounding, depending on local regulatory requirements.
Raw materials
Bedrocan also supplies cannabis raw materials for manufacturers of non-pharmaceutical products for cosmetics and topicals, wellness products, R&D and product development outside the pharmaceutical domain. This category provides customers with flexible access to high-quality cannabis plant material, without the compliance requirements associated with pharmaceutical APIs such as GMP-certified processing or irradiation.
